with stage 4 cancer, and this election couldn’t be more important
to me
But cancer does not define
me.
Right now, I’m fighting
edema throughout my entire body—my feet are the size of my calves.
But last weekend, I was out canvassing for Hillary, because I want to
be out there doing good every day that I can.
It’s an instinct I
inherited from my father, who devoted his life to service: Even after
he retired from the military, he did everything he could to help his
community and his country. When he died five years ago, I wanted to
continue his legacy, so I got involved in community service. And that
led me to all of the work I’m doing today.
I want to make people’s
lives better, just like my father did—and like Hillary Clinton
does. I’ve always felt a powerful connection to Hillary. She’s
shown me that, no matter what anyone else says, I do have a voice.
And she’s spent her life fighting to make life better for other
people—including me.
I have Obamacare—health
insurance through the Affordable Care Act. And had Hillary not laid
the groundwork with her health care fight as first lady, President
Obama might not have been able to enact this legislation. And I don’t
know if I’d be able to get treatment without it.
I want to be that kind of
leader...to build a better world for my daughter. … “
