Network for Hillary! “Hillary Is Working For America’s Farmers"

“Hillary Is Working For America’s Farmers

As the saying goes — no farms, no food — and Hillary has long understood the connection between supporting our farmers and the food that’s delivered to our supermarkets, cafes and restaurants.

During her time in the Senate, Hillary’s colleagues were surprised at her interest in things like the Farm Bill.  Hillary often had to remind people that there were farms in upstate New York producing dairy, fruit and vegetables.  That yes, New York even has cows!  In a 2006 statement, Hillary noted that the 36,000 farms in New York were a major economic driver for the state she represented.

That’s why — as Senator for New York — she quickly got to work building up those businesses and helping to expand their markets.  She did this by advocating for the Niagara Wine Trail, and launching the Farm to Fork Initiative.  As she noted at an event with Tom Vilsack in Iowa last year:

“There were even chefs and restaurant owners in Manhattan obsessed with local produce, and there were farmers and winemakers in upstate New York who had never sold beyond their own immediate communities.

“So I got to work.  I wanted to convene and connect, and we launched something I called the Farm-to-Fork Initiative.  And we fought for broadband access, and we brought new technology partnerships to rural areas and we helped to start small businesses get online and find customers all over the world.
There was so much potential.  We just had to unleash it.” … “

Relief For Working Americans And Families: Hillary’s Tax Plan

You don’t have to be a CPA to recognize that there is inefficiency and unfairness in our tax system.  Too often, the wealthiest individuals and corporations seem to play by a different set of rules.

Hillary has spent decades working to improve economic fairness and opportunity for all Americans.  As President, she will continue to fight for policies that will build an economy that works for everyone—not just those at the top of the food chain. And Hillary understands to reduce barriers to economic opportunity we must restore fairness to the tax code.

Hillary is committed to providing much-needed tax relief to working families, while also ensuring that the wealthiest Americans and corporations pay their fair share to support investment in job development, infrastructure and overall economic growth.  And Hillary’s tax plan shows how she will walk the walk for working families. … “

Some topics of interest you will find are: "Child Tax Credit; Tax Relief for Health Care Costs; Tax Relief for Family Caregiving..."

Network for Hillary! “There's a new “silent majority” | and it's voting for Hillary..." ( Late night but: #SheWon )

A quick morning read & action to share W/friends at a time of your choosing!

Focused Hillary Read 3-5 minutes

“There's a new “silent majority,” and it's voting for Hillary Clinton

Trump voters and Bernie Bros get all the press, but it’s Hillary voters who are going to win.

… The new silent majority is quiet

Clinton led in the Democratic primary from the first day to the last, and has consistently led in general election polling since the beginning of the campaign. Yet the Clinton voter has not made the same kind of impression on the media, in part because the new silent majority voter offers less visible evidence of being fired up and the new silent majority’s signature politicians — Clinton and Obama — do not do grand performance of anger, even at a time when rage is all the rage in American politics.

This is almost certainly not a coincidence. As Rebecca Traister wrote after the Iowa caucus, “No one likes a woman who yells loudly about revolution”:

And no, it’s not just this woman. This is a paradigm; it’s why Mom is the disciplinarian and Dad is the fun guy, why women remain the brains and organizational workhorses behind social movements while men get to be the gut-ripping orators, why so many women still manage campaigns and so many men are still candidates.

Obama, of course, is in a similar boat. Trump can deliver a speech excoriating establishment elites in business and government who don’t care about his people and sound like a populist champion to white America. An angry black man talking about his desire to burn down the system would sound like, well, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whom Obama had to loudly and immediately disavow to be deemed acceptable to a sufficiently large minority of white voters to win.

There is, of course, something lost in this. The financial crisis of 2008 and the ensuring Great Recession were genuine outrages, and it’s understandable that many voters yearn for politicians who’ll give voice to that rage. But ability to perform anger without coming across as the wrong kind of person is still a privilege in the 21st-century United States, and the new silent majority values other forms of representation that a woman can bring to the table over the performance of rage that her rivals bring. ... Network for Hillary! In Her Own Words: “ Mariska Hargitay Is #WithHer " !

A quick morning read & action to share W/friends at a time of your choosing!

Focused Hillary Read 2 minutes

"Hillary has it all, and then some."

By Mariska Hargitay

… Many people have asked me over the years how to get involved with the

movement to end sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse.

My answers come down to this: Don't be a bystander.

As the 2016 election nears, I cannot urge strongly enough: Be involved. Vote.

As for where I stand, I'm with her. I stand with Hillary, enthusiastically and with all conviction.

I can't think of a more succinct rallying cry for the anti-violence movement than Hillary's campaign slogan: Stronger together. We must indeed all work together to dismantle the deeply entrenched societal attitudes that have helped perpetuate this violence for so long, attitudes that have found such a dismaying spokesman during this election cycle.

… The job of carrying the bold focus and commitment of the current administration forward—the progress on eliminating the U.S. backlog of untested rape kits; the first-ever White House advisor on violence against women; and the revision of the archaic, decades-old definition of rape to expand the kinds of offenses that constitute the crime—will require determination, tenacity, poise, strength, intelligence, and a fierce will to fight for what is good. Hillary has it all, and then some.

I cannot urge you strongly enough to stand with Hillary. Stand with me as I stand with her, as we all stand together, as people, as women and men, united in our conviction that we can be the country that leads the world in bringing this violence to an end.

And yes, Hillary, in case you were wondering, this makes you the "Law & Order" candidate. … “
