As the design director at
Hillary for America, one of my favorite things to do is find—and
celebrate—artwork created by supporters. We lift up
supporter-created artwork on oursocial media platforms, use it
in blog posts, and even hang it in our conference rooms. It
always makes our days a little brighter here at headquarters.
That’s why we were
doubly thrilled when Julia Rothman and Leah Goren brought their group
of professional illustrators to headquarters for “Ladies Drawing
Night.
Julia, the local Brooklyn
illustrator who live-sketched some of Hillary’s best
debate moments, founded “Ladies Drawing Night” with two of her
friends, Leah Goren and Rachael Cole.
Every few weeks, Julia
brings together a group of her fellow female illustrators to have a
stress-free night of drawing. “We get together. Sit. Relax. And get
creative together, drawing whatever we want,” Julia said.
The idea took off and
quickly spread beyond Brooklyn. Today, “Ladies Drawing Night” is
a national network of female illustrators who host their own drawing
nights all across the country. …"
