"A Year Of Resistance: How An Indecent President Sparked American Greatness"

Simple the best wrap up I've seen so far of the past year!

It starts like this ...

Last year was tough. I know it, you know it ...

And here are some subtitles ...

And then America shut the door in our face. And it hurt like hell.

Fear Turns Into Hope

And then something magical happened. Out of the pain of the prospect of a Trump Presidency, the Resistance was born.

The seeds of revolution had been sown and the ranks of the Resistance grew. Days that once seemed difficult to face were suddenly filled with purpose.

And since Trump’s election we’ve transformed this country into a politically active one and brought this farce of a Presidency to its knees.

We did that.

Here are some other pretty incredible things we did this year.

but you'll have to see it for yourself here

COMING SOON... but you may want to prep early...

November 27-29

Please Join in Virtually Reminding Everyone to #GetCovered because

December 15th

is the Last Day to Enroll for Affordable Health Care Insurance

(Better known by some as ACA or “Obamacare”)

On Twitter -- from 6:30 a.m. To 6:30 p.m. EST

➠ The GOP has been working to repeal The Patient Protection Affordable Care Act (ACA) since the day it was signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010.

Then came the Trump GOP and the Trump GOP has been working to prevent people from signing up for affordable health insurance by cutting advertising funds to alert citizens to the time frame they have to enroll and by rigging the scheduled hours available to enroll.

As a result, ACA supporters. in and out of Congress, have been working to share enrollment information on a variety of platforms and since my favorite platform is Twitter, I'm working to schedule reminder ACA Tweets every hour on the hour on November 27, 28 and 29 and you to join in by:

ONE

Retweeting ACA reminder Tweets directly on my Twitter feed @GKMTNtwits during the 3-day time frame

TWO

Creating and Tweeting your own ACA reminder Tweets during the 3-day time frame (using h/t #ProgressDems so I can find you and Retweet you, too!)

THREE

And, of course, feel free to be creative and download favorite Tweets and adapt them and share them on your favorite platforms ...

Every little bit will help to amplify this critical message for Americans who desperately need affordable healthcare so if you can do something -- do something no matter how small it is.

THANK YOU!

Now, just a couple of technical things ~

If you need to enroll, you can enroll here

“A Better Deal” Ensures Long-Overdue Worker Protections

This week, two competing plans were presented by the Republicans and Democrats, each ostensibly aimed at helping middle- and working-class Americans.

The Republicans presented a tax plan that House Speaker Paul Ryan described as being “for the middle-class families in this country who deserve a break. It is for the families who are out there living paycheck to paycheck, who just keep getting squeezed.” However, many tax experts have determined that the real winners in the proposed tax plan are corporations and the super-rich.

The Democrats did not propose a parallel tax proposal that would display their vision for a just society, but instead unveiled an alternative vision for labor law, one that would help fulfill the original promise made by the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA, first enacted during the Great Depression).

Though it may seem that tax policy and labor policy have little in common, they each show the parties’ priorities in addressing income and wealth inequality and the future of the American worker.

... Republicans have identified the solution as providing more capital to corporations and the wealthy, so that they may create more jobs and pass down some of the wealth, Democrats have identified the solution in giving workers a proper voice in the workplace to demand higher wages and greater benefits. … “
