#StrongerTogether ! Reminder: Progressive Democrats' 3-day Virtual Sustained Action Starts Monday!

Focused Read in 3 minutes

Final Reminder:

Progressive Democrats 3-day Virtual, Sustained #GetCovered Action begins at 6 a.m. EST – Monday the 27th (through Wednesday the 29th) because...

DECEMBER 15th is the Last Day to sign up for Affordable Health Care Insurance for 2018.

(The Patient Protection Affordable Care Act, better known by some as ACA or “Obamacare,” was signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010.)

Trump's GOP is cutting back on open enrollment advertising and the amount of days available to enroll in what appears to be an effort to stop people from getting covered so Progressive Democrats will be amplifying that enrollment message, reminding everyone to #GetCovered before it is too late to do so.

(I happen to be a Twitter kind of woman so my personal plan is to remind people to enroll for on Twitter from 6:30 a.m. To 6:30 p.m. throughout the 3 days.

As we speak, I have scheduled reminder Tweets every hour on the hour.)

You will find 3 examples of how you might join Progressive Democrats ACA action to help beat the Trump GOP apparent effort to stop people from getting covered below:

ONE

Retweeting reminder Tweets directly from Progressive Democrats Twitter feed @ProgressDems and at hashtags #ProgressDems and #GetCovered during the 3-day time frame.

TWO

Creating and Tweeting your own ACA reminder Tweets during the 3-day time frame (using the hashtags #GetCovered and #ProgressDems so we can all find each other and retweet each other!)

THREE

And, of course, my personal plan is merely an example, feel free to be creative and download favorite memes and adapt them and share them on your favorite social media platforms ...

Every little bit will help to amplify this critical message for all Americans who might be in need of affordable health care.

And please go to Progressive Democrats Event Post and RSVP to help amplify the message that time is running out for ACA enrollment!

THANK YOU!

Now, just a couple of housekeeping things ~

If you need to enroll, you can enroll online here

"Here's the FCC Plan to Undo Net Neutrality

If approved next month, Internet providers will gain more power over what you see and do online

The Federal Communications Commission has unveiled a sweeping plan that essentially dismantles every aspect of the net neutrality rules put in place during the Obama administration.

If the plan is approved at the FCC's open meeting in mid-December, as expected, Internet service providers...will be allowed to slow down and possibly block some websites and online services, and charge companies more for "fast lanes" that provide speedier service.

The Obama-era FCC banned these practices, putting in place "bright line" rules to codify neutrality, or the principle that all Internet traffic to consumers should be treated equally.

In a statement issued yesterday FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, the new plan's chief architect, argued that the net neutrality rules had hindered investment and deterred innovation.

"Under my proposal, the federal government will stop micromanaging the Internet," he said. "Instead, the FCC would simply require Internet service providers to be transparent about their practices so that consumers can buy the service plan that's best for them and entrepreneurs and other small businesses can have the technical information they need to innovate."

Consumers Union, the policy and mobilization division of Consumer Reports and an outspoken advocate for net neutrality, opposes the plan.

“If the FCC approves this proposal, it would be an enormous loss for consumers,” says Jonathan Schwantes, senior policy counsel for Consumers Union. “Repealing the net neutrality rules would give Internet service providers more power and control over the websites we can visit, and it would make it harder for small businesses and innovators to compete online. This move would likely lead to consumers paying higher prices for the Internet access and speeds they have today.”

The new plan is expected to be approved by the FCC along party lines, with the three Republican commissioners in favor and the two Democratic commissioners opposed. In a published statement, Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel, a Democrat, called Pai's plan "ridiculous and offensive to the millions of Americans who use the Internet every day."

Citing past precedent, she's calling for public hearings before any change is made to the rules. The plan, she says, "throttles access, stalls opportunity, and censors content. It would be a big blunder for a slim majority of the FCC to approve these rules and saddle every Internet user with the cruel consequences." … “

#StrongerTogether ! Top 10 on My Democratic 2017 New Year's Resolutions List!

Focused Read 3 minutes

Top 10 on My Democratic 2017 New Year's Resolutions List!

10

~ Resolve to double my efforts to critique select media in the context of the Constitution of the United States and the Democratic Party Platform in an effort to encourage honest, relevant journalism with context and in an effort to inform their currently misled followers primarily on social media.

9

~ Resolve to communicate with anti-Democratic factions in D.C. that I am watching via phone, letter, letter-to-the-editor, E-mail, Tweet and Fax, etc.

8

~ Resolve to send thank you notes when my representatives in D.C. are acting in pragmatic accordance with the Democratic Platform despite limitations on the minority party.

7

~ Resolve to research relevant committees in the House and in the Senate and to know who the members are and to create contact lists for the committees, the chairs and the Democratic membership and communicate with them. And that includes watching critical meetings and hearings.

6

~ Resolve to touch base with my Democratic Committees – local and state -- and to inquire as to what the plan is going forward in light of vulture capitalists and white nationalists now running the country.

5

~ Resolve to touch base with my City Clerk in my hometown to confirm the integrity of our voting system and to discuss concerns and options in an era of Russian cyber attacks targeted at doing harm to our country and copy my mayor, my state representative, my Secretary of State and my Governor with a summary of the conversation.

4

~ Resolve to communicate with my representatives in D.C. by first subscribing to their newsletters, to understand their job description, to understand what they can and can not do per House and Senate rules and to make my asks of them in accordance with the scope of said job descriptions, to share my thoughts with them and to let them know I support them in the work they do and when I don't agree with them, as well.

3

~ Resolve to have a face-to-face meeting with my representatives in D.C. to ask them to explain their strategy over the next four years to defend what is ours and to stop what is not conducive to the Democratic Platform from happening via anti-Democratic factions on The Hill.

2

~ Resolve to revisit the job description of the Democratic National Committee Chair and share with the Committee what I am thinking about the Party going forward, as well as who I would like to have for Chair prior to the first Committee forum hosting candidates for office positions, noting that my primary criteria is: Being a Democrat; supporting the Democratic Platform and; having the broad experience I believe is required to do the job in the 21st Century.

1

~ Resolve to resolve to take care of my self, to pace my self re my time and my energy, to not ignore important relationships, and to remind my colleagues in this upcoming fight to do the same!
